Bryan the Pigeon Goes to School

Bryan the Pigeon is like any other pre-schooler.  He does silly things, makes new friends, has lots of exciting adventures and gets into quite a few scrapes. With engaging illustrations on every page, each book in the series covers an experience that your child will readily relate to, yet there’s a moral to the story or one of life’s lessons to be learned along the way.

In the first book of the series, Bryan the Pigeon goes to School, Bryan attends nursery school for the very first time, meets his teacher, makes some new friends, and loses his lunchbox. As a result he learns about sharing, and the importance of taking care of his belongings.

REVIEWS

CHARFIELD PRE-SCHOOL, Glos

An engrossing and entertaining book which the class (aged between 2 and 4) absolutely loved. The book is pitched exactly right for the age group and the topic is very relevant to them, promoting further discussion among the children. Bryan the Pigeon goes to School delivers the message to the children far more effectively than other, more factual methods and we’re looking forward to the next in the series.

HAMPTON INFANT SCHOOL & NURSERY, Richmond, Surrey

The book was perfectly pitched for my Nursery Class (age 3). The concept was ideal for taking responsibility along with sharing. They really enjoyed it!

Bryan the Pigeon Loses his Mummy

Bryan the Pigeon is like any other pre-schooler.  He does silly things, makes new friends, has lots of exciting adventures and gets into quite a few scrapes. With engaging illustrations on every page, each book in the series covers an experience that your child will readily relate to, yet there’s a moral to the story or one of life’s lessons to be learned along the way.

In Bryan the Pigeon Loses his Mummy, Bryan goes shopping at the Mall with his Mummy and gets lost. Frightened, and forgetting everything he's been told about what to do if he gets lost, he luckily meets up with his friends who can remind him. As a result he learns a valuable lesson about keeping himself safe in crowded places.

ST HELEN'S PRIMARY SCHOOL, Alveston, Glos

Class 1 (aged 5 – 6) really enjoyed sharing the story and the pictures together. The theme of the

book gave us many opportunities to speak about ‘stranger danger’ and what to do if you get lost. The

children engaged well with the story when it was read to them, and gave suggestions with ease. This

is a great book, both for parents to use at home and to promote discussion at School. It links well

with many PSHE topics.

Bryan the Pigeon Tells a Lie

Bryan the Pigeon is like any other pre-schooler.  He does silly things, makes new friends, has lots of exciting adventures and gets into quite a few scrapes. With engaging illustrations on every page, each book in the series covers an experience that your child will readily relate to, yet there’s a moral to the story or one of life’s lessons to be learned along the way.

In Bryan the Pigeon Tells a Lie, Bryan disobeys his Mummy and then tells a lie.  He is sent to reflect on the Naughty Step and misses a tea party with his friends as a punishment, but can’t understand how his Mummy knew he told her a lie. All becomes clear when his punishment is over, and Bryan learns the importance of telling the truth and how easy it is to get caught in a lie.

REVIEWS

Fiona Gayther, S Glos

I read this to my granddaughter and she loved it. She particularly loved the illustrations. Highly recommended!

Tim Dixon, Honiton, Devon

I road-tested this book on my nephew, aged four. He wouldn’t put it down but loved listening to me read it… again, and again and again!

Bryan the Pigeon Has a Tummy-Ache

Bryan the Pigeon is like any other pre-schooler.  He does silly things, makes new friends, has lots of exciting adventures and gets into quite a few scrapes. With engaging illustrations on every page, each book in the series covers an experience that your child will readily relate to, yet there’s a moral to the story or one of life’s lessons to be learned along the way.

In Bryan the Pigeon Has a Tummy-ache, Bryan goes to play with his friends in the forest and tries very hard to remember everything his Mummy has told him about keeping himself safe.  He forgets a key message, however, and ends up with a very bad tummy-ache indeed!

REVIEWS

Pippa Yardley, Northants

My 3-year-old twins are big fans of Bryan the Pigeon because they love hearing about him getting into trouble - I think they can easily identify with that! They really enjoyed this story and I liked the way it incorporates several important messages for toddlers in a way that’s easy for them to understand.

V Barraclough, Bristol

I read this book to the children during Storytime at my local library and they loved it. The story held them completely engrossed, and the illustrations proved very popular, too.

Bryan the Pigeon Has a Bad Dream

Bryan the Pigeon is like any other pre-schooler.  He does silly things, makes new friends, has lots of exciting adventures and gets into quite a few scrapes. With engaging illustrations on every page, each book in the series covers an experience that your child will readily relate to, yet there’s a moral to the story or one of life’s lessons to be learned along the way.

Bryan the Pigeon Has a Bad Dream is perhaps a slightly darker tale than the previous books in the series.  Bryan enjoys his birthday party with all his friends, but he gets over-tired and ends up having a bad dream.  Bryan learns that ordinary things can sometimes look different in the dark, but there are no such things as monsters!

REVIEWS

Moira Siston, Bath

My granddaughter loves Bryan the Pigeon and this is her favourite book in the series.  She asks for it time and time again, and spends ages carefully studying each picture before we can turn the page! … I was amused to overhear her telling her little sister scornfully the other day, “There’s no such THINGS as monsters!”

Martyn McCullough, Keswick

…this rather dopey blue pigeon holds a special attraction for my kids.  The stories never fail to get a spellbound audience at bedtime and it’s a great way to get a message across.  Long live Bryan!
